Our Story

Keystone was founded in 1954 by Warren Hoffman on North 8th Street in Burlington. He started the business selling storm windows, doors and awnings. In 1956, the business moved to the southeast corner of Smith and Marshall Street and added kitchen cabinets to its offerings. Seven years later in 1963, Warren purchased our current building and expanded display areas and product offerings. In 1974, the business continued to expand and our main area to the west was added along with more displays and products. Keystone continued to run as a family-owned and operated entity until it was sold to Brad and Heather Lange in 2021. In 2022, the building went through a large scale renovation and the business name was changed to Keystone Home to reflect the shift from a product-focused, hardware store to southeast Iowa’s largest kitchen, bath, interior design and recreation showroom.

Meet our Team

Heather Lange

President & Principal Designer

Heather is our president and principal designer, overseeing all aspects of our client's interior design projects. In 2015, she launched her interior design business, Heather Lange Designs. Over the next few years her business continued to grow, and she was able to open a small shop inside Keystone. In 2021, she saw the opportunity to purchase Keystone and merge the two businesses together into Keystone Home. Heather holds a BFA in Art and Design and a Minor in Entrepreneurial Studies from Iowa State University. When she isn’t helping clients with their home interiors, you can find her spending time with family and friends, supporting her two boys at their sporting events.

Brad Lange

Vice President

Brad is our vice president and brings over twenty years of management experience to our team. His previous days were spent in the steel industry, but he has transitioned to handling our day-to-day operations and team management. He enjoys farming, spending time with his wife and three kids, hunting, fishing, and dirt track racing.

Julie Schroeder

Senior Kitchen Designer

Julie has been working in the kitchen and bath design industry for over twenty years. She developed a love for the construction trade from her father, who was an area contractor. Whether she’s helping her clients choose cabinetry or reconfiguring their bathroom layout, she loves to help her customers design their dream homes. When she isn’t designing beautiful kitchens, she enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with family, and working on home projects.

Brent Mauer

Recreation Sales & Service

Brent is our resident hot tub, water care, and recreation specialist. He has over twenty years of pool and spa experience in a background in installation, repair, water testing and chemistry. On an average day, you can find him helping customers choose the best spa for their needs, working to diagnose service issues, and helping with deliveries. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and tinkering outside at his home.

Angie Willson

Office Manager

Angie has been with our company since 1985 managing the accounting and filling in on various other jobs over the years. She is always willing to help and cover wherever she is needed. She holds a degree in accounting from Southeastern Community College and in her free time enjoys taking care of her animals and spending time with family.

Chris Rauschke

Warehouse Manager

Chris comes to us from the Washington state area and is our warehouse manager. He is in charge of scheduling our customer deliveries and incoming orders. While in Washington, Chris worked for a large cabinet manufacturer and handled logistics, order management, and deliveries. When he’s not working, he is enjoying time with his wife, exploring the area and learning more about the state, fishing and playing with his two dogs.

Randy Wagler

Shipping & Receiving

It is a rare occasion that someone stops in and doesn’t know Randy. He is the smiling, welcoming face that you will see around the showroom and on deliveries. He has been with the company from the start and is now semi-retired, but still helps a few days a week. When he’s not at work with us, you can find him working on Kirby Vacuums, collecting vintage vacuums, at garage sales, gardening, or working at his church.

Bailey Griffith

Marketing Specialist & Design Assistant

Bailey is the voice behind our social media posts and our newest kitchen, bath and interior designer. She has a background in graphic design and marketing and holds a BA in Advertising with a Minor in Design Studies from Iowa State University. After college, she developed an interest in interior design through working in retail at a small home décor store and renovating her family’s generational farmhouse. In her free time, you can find her chasing after her toddler, Brynn, and two pups, scouring local auctions for antiques, or at a sprint car race with her family.
